The Lovely Ladies over at Fat Quarter Shop are tempting me with a give away. All I have to do is write a letter to Santa listing what I would like from their shop. You can too. Just click here.
Okay, here goes...
Santa Baby, slip some Plain Jane under my tree, for me
But wait, I can't pick just one
Santa Baby, hurry down the chimney tonight
Santa Baby, a bundle of some Nicey Jane, too, in cool
For American Vintage I drool
Santa Baby, please hurry down the chimney tonight
Woodland Delight in brown, gray or pink
Oz is nice, I want some I think
Some My Happy Garden to round out the list
Oops! Boutique is one that I missed
Santa Baby, I know the list is really quite long, so wrong
so I'll be happy with one, just one
Please drop it down the chimney tonight

The shopping is done. The presents are wrapped.
We are ready for the big day. It's getting pretty exciting around here.
Speaking of presents...
I made these for all my Young Women. They are tacks made out of bottle caps. They aren't very hard to make and I love the way they turned out. I found the tutorial for them here.
And finally, to go along with the gift theme I seem to have going here, I read a wonderful article by Howard W. Hunter with a list of 21 gifts he suggests we can give to truly commemorate Christ by giving as he gave:
- Mend a quarrel
- Seek out a forgotten friend
- Dismiss suspicion and replace it with trust
- Write a letter
- Give a soft answer
- Encourage youth
- Manifest your loyalty in word and deed
- Keep a promise
- Forgo a grudge
- Try to understand
- Examine your demands on others
- Think first of someone else
- Be kind
- Be gentle
- Laugh a little more
- Express your gratitude
- Welcome a stranger
- Gladden the heart of a child
- Take pleasure in the beauty and wonder of the earth
- Speak your love and then speak it again
"Christmas is a celebration, and there is no celebration that compares with the realization of its true meaning-with the sudden stirring of the heart that has extended itself unselfishly in the things that matter most"

Yes, I have a silver tree. I know, I know, Charlie Brown would be horrified. But, I like it. There is something so retro yet festive about it. Plus, it makes the family room look frosty.
I love bottle brush trees. When I found these little babies at Target last week, I just had to have them. I imagined they would look great on the mantle...
And they do.
The living room is more traditional. This is where we have our family tree with all our cherished ornaments, collected over the years. I finished this quilt a couple of months ago and have been anxious to put it out. I think it looks great.
Seasons greetings, happy holidays and especially...Merry Christmas.

I found these blocks buried among my stash. They were leftovers from the very first quilt I made 10 years ago. I had forgotten about them. They are a little out of synch with my style now but I thought I could update them with these tags I found at Sweetwater. I am very pleased with the results. I'll have the whole thing together by this weekend.

I love to check out blogs. In fact, I probably spend far too much time in that particular activity. However, the thought of creating my own blog has intimidated me. Do I have anything of value to contribute to this crazy world of blogging? I guess we will find out.
